BUILDING THE BLACK GATE
Part three: The Towers of the Teeth

Step 15:
The construction of the Witch Crown parapet is identical to that of all former parapets. Glue the Witch Crown Front, Witch Crown Back & Witch Crown Gangway templates onto 2mm cardboard and cut them out. Bend the Front and Back elements into shape along the red incision lines; don't forget to add the 0.7cm & 0.3cm guidelines to their backsides.
Glue all Bill (small) elements, A-spikes and D-spikes in place before assembling the parapet (see also: Step 5).
Use your hobby knife to behead any Nazgūl that stands above the MDF frame.
Put some glue on top of the uppermost Nazgūl elements before gluing the completed Witch Crown gangway onto the Witch King wall.
Press the Witch Crown Front strip against the Nazgūls; this is the right position for the parapet.
Finally, use some filler to plug up any cracks between the Nazgūl elements.
Paint the miniature with structure paint and then paint it black.
You have just finished the lateral wall.
Upon them stood the Teeth of Mordor, two towers strong and tall
And so we come to the Towers, at last!
Until now we have used MDF (nearly) solely for the construction of the frames; most of our efforts went into the production of the cardboard decorations. With the watchtowers, it will be different. However, there's no need to recoil from the job as the modelling of the various elements doesn't require any specialist skills.
As you can see in the pictures we barely used any of the tower-templates, simply because they weren't available at the time. Instead, we made our drawings directly onto the MDF. This might give you the false impression that this manual method works best for the sake of modelling. But of course, gluing these templates onto the fibreboard doesn't hamper the cutting at all. In the end, everything is going to be sprayed with paint so nobody will ever see the difference
